Jay Electronica has apparently “met” the Illuminati, and the enigmatic rapper claimed he wasn’t impressed with what he saw.
The Roc Nation lyricist’s comments came on Twitter on Monday (March 13) during a bizarre posting spree in which he also claimed Dominicans control the banks and the Visigoths — an early Germanic people — run a pedophile ring in Hollywood.
“Ps, The Illuminati? I met em. They ain’t all that. Ask em about me,” Jay tweeted, adding: “Ps, The Dominicans control Hollywood.”
Elsewhere, he said: “Ps, The Dominicans control the banking system…Ps, The Visigoths are running a pedophile ring in Hollywood…Ps, The Albinos control the military industrial complex.”
Hip Hop’s obsession with the Illuminati is well documented, with Cardi B being the most recent rapper to be accused of rubbing shoulders with the elusive cult.
Following her short-lived separation from husband Offset in 2020, the Bronx bombshell posted a photo on Instagram of her donning a red devil costume, and fans immediately accused the “WAP” rapper of being a part of the Illuminati.
“Smh Illuminati horns,” one user wrote, while another claimed: “You sold your soul for fame and money.” Others said: “ILLUMINATI CONFIRMED” and “Illuminati has joined the chat.”
“Stop with the Illuminati shit,” Cardi responded. “It was just costumes for a TikTok video DAMN!” She also wrote in the comments section: “I will never join nothing I rather die broke. [Money can’t] buy my faith in GOD."
In other Jay Electronica news, the A Written Testimony rapper revealed in December that he’s working on a joint album with Curren$y.
The Pilot Talk rapper was hosting an Instagram Live with fans when Jay Elec popped up in the comments section to remind his fellow New Orleans native that their project still needs to be completed.
The two have worked together in the past on songs such as “The Day” and “AD6,” and at one point were even part of a supergroup called Center Edge Territory alongside Yasiin Bey (formerly Mos Def).
“J A Y E L E C T R O N I C A lost his mind … glad we’re buddies man…dude is out of control with rap …thanks for the verse man…,” Curren$y tweeted in 2021 following the completion of “AD6.” “You are a source of motivation for me man… I’ll carry this inspiration into 2022 and bring it@to the studio errrday let’s fuckin go.. #pilottalk4.”
10cc drummer Paul Burgess has announced that he is leaving the band because the demands of touring have become too much for him.
The 75-year-old musician, who also spent time performing with Jethro Tull, Camel, Magna Carta, and The Icicle Works, has chosen to walk away from the legendary rock group after more than five decades.
He shared: “After so many wonderful years with 10cc, I must admit that the rigours of touring are no longer manageable for me as I get older, and I feel it’s time to let go of the long hours in airports and endless travel on buses.
“I’m not planning to stop playing altogether. I will still perform but at a pace that feels right, working alongside old friends and a new group of fellow musicians called The Guilty Men.”
Frontman Graham Gouldman confessed that it will feel unusual to perform without his “longest-running musical associate.”
He explained: “When Paul and I first joined forces in 10cc, we never could have imagined that we’d still be at it after 30 years, let alone 52.
“Paul has been my longest musical partner and it will feel different to turn around and see another drummer, but I completely understand why he no longer wants to sit on a plane for 14 hours or wake up in a new hotel every day for weeks at a time.”
Ben Stone, who has previously played with Mike and The Mechanics and Bonnie Tyler, will be taking over on drums.
Paul, who had several runs with 10cc after joining in 1973, performed his final show with the I’m Not In Love band in Alexandria, Virginia this past September.
The group is set to continue their And Another Bloody Greatest Hits Tour in the UK next year.
