Aphex Twin has teamed up with Supreme for a new t-shirt, inspired by the ‘Windowlicker’ artwork.
The partnership between the two comes as part of the streetwear brand’s new Spring/Summer 2025 collection, and includes an exclusively-made t-shirt.
With the new design, Supreme and Aphex Twin – real name Richard David James – have rolled out a new black shirt that has the iconic cover art for the latter’s 1999 track ‘Windowlicker’.
This shows the artist’s face, smiling, photoshopped onto a woman’s body. On the back, the design features hand-written lyrics from ‘Cock/ver10’, a track taken from his fifth studio album, 2001’s ‘Drukqs’.
“Come on you c***s, let’s have some Aphex acid,” it reads, written in white and sprawling across the back of the shirt. Check out the design below, and visit here to sign up for notifications when the collection goes live.
Shared back in 1999, ‘Windowlicker’ remains as one of Aphex Twins biggest hits, and was named by NME as the Single of the Year upon its release. It also featured in NME‘s countdown of the greatest music videos of all time.
In the latter, the track came in at Number 29 out of 30, and the entry for it read that the video, directed by Chris Cunningham, included 127 profanities. It also came as a parody of gangster hip-hop videos, and made several nods to Lily Allen’s track ‘Hard Out Here’.
As highlighted by RA, this isn’t the first time that Aphex Twin has been a source of inspiration for Supreme, as the brand also made a nod to his work back in 2018. At the time, Supreme joined up with Cunningham for a shirt that featured stills from the 2005 film Rubber Johnny – which he made with Aphex Twin.
Other partnerships with artists include a collaboration with Jane’s Addiction, which dropped in October last year, and a Massive Attack-inspired clothing line in 2021.
Before that, there were collections inspired by the likes of The Smiths and The Velvet Underground, and 2015 saw Supreme tap Neil Young for a collaboration, selling a T-shirt featuring a photo of Young himself wearing a Supreme-branded shirt.
In other Aphex Twin news, back in December the artist dropped a new compilation called ‘From The Merch Desk (2016-2023)’ in a surprise release.
He released his ‘Blackbox Life Recorder 21f / in a room7 F760′ EP in 2023 – marking his first new music in five years. The collection also spawned its own augmented reality app. He then dropped his EP ‘London 19.08.2023’ the following month to coincide with his headline performance at Field Day 2023 in London.
Aphex Twin has not released a full-length studio album since 2014’s Grammy Award-winning ‘Syro’.
10cc drummer Paul Burgess has announced that he is leaving the band because the demands of touring have become too much for him.
The 75-year-old musician, who also spent time performing with Jethro Tull, Camel, Magna Carta, and The Icicle Works, has chosen to walk away from the legendary rock group after more than five decades.
He shared: “After so many wonderful years with 10cc, I must admit that the rigours of touring are no longer manageable for me as I get older, and I feel it’s time to let go of the long hours in airports and endless travel on buses.
“I’m not planning to stop playing altogether. I will still perform but at a pace that feels right, working alongside old friends and a new group of fellow musicians called The Guilty Men.”
Frontman Graham Gouldman confessed that it will feel unusual to perform without his “longest-running musical associate.”
He explained: “When Paul and I first joined forces in 10cc, we never could have imagined that we’d still be at it after 30 years, let alone 52.
“Paul has been my longest musical partner and it will feel different to turn around and see another drummer, but I completely understand why he no longer wants to sit on a plane for 14 hours or wake up in a new hotel every day for weeks at a time.”
Ben Stone, who has previously played with Mike and The Mechanics and Bonnie Tyler, will be taking over on drums.
Paul, who had several runs with 10cc after joining in 1973, performed his final show with the I’m Not In Love band in Alexandria, Virginia this past September.
The group is set to continue their And Another Bloody Greatest Hits Tour in the UK next year.
