No complaints were made to the police, but Censori's outfit may have violated broadcast codes

Kanye West‘s wife Bianca Censori won’t face legal action for wearing a see-through outfit to the Grammys.

The couple appeared on the red carpet at the ceremony on Sunday (February 2). Censori turned up in a fur coat, which she then dropped to reveal an almost entirely see-through dress. It was said that this was designed to replicate the album cover of ‘Vultures 1’, Ye’s ¥$ collaborative album with Ty Dolla $ign.

The pair’s appearance on the red carpet was met with shock on social media, with some expressing concern for Censori’s welfare. They left the event shortly afterwards, with West later confirming that they had done so of their own volition and hadn’t been escorted out.

It had been suggested that Censori’s outfit could count as indecent exposure but according to TMZ, LAPD sources confirmed that there will be no legal consequences from the stunt. This is because the Grammy Awards is a private event and no one from the show made a complaint to the police.

In a statement to Page Six, LA-based lawyer Andrea Oguntula said: “While Ms. Censori’s outfit undoubtedly pushed the envelope, a charge of indecent exposure in California requires willful public exposure of one’s genitals with the specific intent to offend or sexually arouse.

“It’s theoretically possible but unlikely she’ll face any criminal prosecution for this incident.”

However, the outfit may have violated broadcast dress codes. According to the CBS Standard and Practice Wardrobe Advisory [per Deadline] exposed “breasts, buttocks [and] genitals” are banned at the Grammys. The stunt also wasn’t aired on TV as “obscene content” is “prohibited on cable, satellite and broadcast TV and radio.”

West was nominated for Best Rap Song (‘Carnival’ with Ty Dolla $ign and Rich The Kid feat. Playboi Carti) at this year’s event but lost out to Kendrick Lamar‘s ‘Not Like Us’.

The stunt followed police in Venice investigating an “indecent” public incident on a boat involving the pair on a boat back in 2023.

Recently, Ye previewed snippets of new material from a DJ booth in Tokyo, which included a shoutout to the disgraced rap mogul Diddy on a remix of Future’s ‘Magic Don Juan’.

It is believed that the tracks played by Ye will be featured on his upcoming album ‘Bully’ – which he announced last September at a listening event in China. West told the crowd: “I got a new album coming out, it’s called ‘Bully’.” It’s not yet clear when the album or track will be released.

In other news, West said that he now follows Taylor Swift on Instagram, adding another layer to their seemingly ongoing feud.

Earlier on Friday, Jan. 30, news reports announced an upcoming Netflix documentary exploring the early years and success of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the impact of the band’s original guitarist Hillel Slovak, who died in 1988 of an accidental heroin overdose.

Directed by Ben Feldman, Variety reported that The Rise of the Red Hot Chili Peppers includes input from members Anthony Kiedis and Flea and is set to premiere on March 20. “At its heart, this is a deeply relatable story — about the friendships that shape our identities and the lasting power of the bonds forged in adolescence,” Feldman said in a statement at the time. “What’s less relatable, of course, is that here those friends went on to create one of the greatest rock bands in history. I’m profoundly grateful to the band and to Hillel’s family for their trust and generosity, and to Netflix for helping bring this story to the world stage.”

However, following the announcement, the band later released their own statement distancing themselves from the project. “About a year ago, we were asked to be interviewed for a documentary about Hillel Slovak. He was a founding member of the group, a great guitarist, and friend. We agreed to be interviewed out of love and respect for Hillel and his memory,” wrote the band in a post shared on social media. “However, this documentary is now being advertised as a Red Hot Chili Peppers documentary, which it is not,” they clarified. “We had nothing to do with it creatively. We have yet to make a Red Hot Chili Peppers documentary. The central subject of this current Netflix special is Hillel Slovak and we hope it sparks interest in his work.”

The group originally encompassed Slovak, Kiedis, Flea, and drummer Jack Irons. It has since gone through several iterations following Slovak’s tragic death, with Irons leaving the group soon after.
