Halle Bailey returns with her second solo single of 2024. The 24-year-old professes her undying love in “Because I Love You,” co-written by RAYE. In the release, Halle Bailey signals a new era with mature themes and lyrics in her music.
The music video with The Little Mermaid actress front and center also co-stars RJ Cyler and is directed by Allie Avital. In the clip, Halle confronts her lover, played by the aforementioned Rap Sh!t actor, who steps outside of their relationship with an enticing performer, also played by Halle.
As tensions rise, she jumps on the hood of his car while he takes his paramour on a romantic date, only to be confronted by multiple Halle Bailey clones.

“‘Because I Love You’ is a song for anyone who has ever been deeply in love,” relays the mother of one in a press statement. “It’s an anthem that tells the story of all of the beautiful passion and euphoria you can feel with that person. The video dives deeper into how vulnerable it makes you feel. I hope people enjoy listening and thinking of the person they love the most.”
“Because I Love You” was teased in April on Instagram Live alongside a few other new, yet-to-be-released songs. As the winner of a fan-voted poll requesting the DemJointz-produced track as her next drop, it follows “In Your Hands” released earlier this year.
Halle Bailey made her solo debut with last year’s “Angel” which was nominated at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards for Best R&B Song. Most recently, she was featured on the song “Want Me” from her sister Chlöe’s sophomore project, Trouble In Paradise.

NBA YoungBoy has been releasing a large amount of music this year, whether he is rebuilding his post-prison career or shutting down rap beef. His new YouTube diss track and music video, Zero IQ Freestyle, clearly falls into the latter category. Several lines either directly brush off NLE Choppa for his disses or subtly dismiss him as a fake hater. Backed by a loud, hard-hitting beat and his animated vocal delivery, the song feels extremely high-energy.
The lyrics are sharp and cutting, whether they are aimed at someone specific or not, and the track functions as a broad clap-back toward his many haters and personal frustrations. Even if YB chooses not to fully answer NLE The Great any time soon, he definitely made his bold and confrontational point with Zero IQ Freestyle.
