What inspired you to become a music artist, and how did your journey begin?
Zulcan:
I didn't necessarily set out to become a music artist, I used to just enjoy creating small musical projects on my computer as a hobby, I did this for a very long time and that eventually evolved into what I'm doing today

Could you describe your creative process when composing and producing music?
Zulcan:
The creation of each song is very different from the other. Sometimes I'll have an idea going into a song as to what sonics and ideas I want to incorporate into it, other times I just figure it out by messing around with different things. For my latest song - Silver and Gold, it took me a while to come up with the idea but I was able to do so just by experimenting with different sounds and effects.

How would you define your unique musical style, and which artists have influenced you the most?
Zulcan:
I like to think of each of my releases as having a unique style. If I become particularly attached to a certain sonic I will most likely release a bigger project dedicated to it, like I did with my Rise EP. Some of my biggest influences include Kanye West, Fred Again.., and Skrillex.

Your latest album/song has received critical acclaim. Can you tell us about the story or inspiration behind it?
Zulcan:
Silver and Gold came to me during a time I wasn't intending to create any music. The idea for it came to me while I was visiting my family in Bangladesh for the first time in a while. I don't know what I was trying to do or create when producing this song but everything came together as I needed it to without me having to overthink or try too hard to perfect each sound.

How do you balance your personal life with the demands of being a music artist?
Zulcan:
I don't think of being a music artist as a job, I see it more as a hobby that I get to do each day, I think that makes things a lot easier and allows me to continue enjoying making my music.

In the ever-evolving music industry, how do you stay relevant and adapt to new trends?
Zulcan:
I try not to let all the trends affect my music, if I like an Idea I get from something I'll use it, if I don't, I won't.

Collaborations are a significant part of the music industry. Can you share your experience working with other artists, and what you've learned from these collaborations?
Zulcan:
I'm still working on establishing myself in the music industry so I can eventually reach incredible heights. I'm working with some collaborators now and hopefully will get some new music out soon.

How do you handle criticism and negative feedback about your music?
Zulcan:
I don't mind any criticism I receive, I firmly believe everyone is very much entitled to their own thoughts and feelings on anything.

What role does social media play in promoting your music and connecting with fans?
Zulcan:
I mainly use my social media to promote and preview any new releases I have coming out. I often post snippets and host polls for potential album covers of new songs prior to their release.

What advice would you give to aspiring music artists trying to break into the industry?
Zulcan:
Persistence is the most important thing when trying to accomplish anything, whoever wants to make it in this industry can as long as they don't give up and try their all. I'm still not exactly where I want to be, but I know for a fact I will be.

How do you ensure that your music resonates with a diverse audience?
Zulcan:
I don't typically think about the audience when making my music, however, since I make mostly electronic music and dance music I think my songs are able to resonate greater with a wider range of audiences.

Can you tell us about any upcoming projects or plans for the future?
Zulcan:
I am still working on an EP that will hopefully be out this year. It will be 6 tracks and most likely include one from an album that I am working on. The album has just started development and will take some time to finish up and polish.

How do you handle pressure and maintain mental well-being while dealing with the demands of your career?
Zulcan:
I don't really get stressed out from all of this, I love doing it and I am always able to take things one at a time.

How do you incorporate your personal experiences and emotions into your music?
Zulcan:
My emotions and experiences seem to find a way into my music. I don't consciously think about it, but sometimes I'll understand what one of my songs means weeks or sometimes months after its completion.

Sienna-Rose Jerak has a voice well beyond her years, and is a name in the pop music industry you’ll want to watch out for.

The 14-year-old singer from Australia released a pair of singles called “You Got Me” and “To Fly,” which showcases her vast range and ability to fill the air with her powerful vocals.

“You Got Me” is a love song about liking someone so much, and not being sure if they like you back. She said it can be super confusing and drive you crazy with the hot and cold, and Jerak brings this out in the music.

“You feel like you’re wrapped up in their games and you don’t know how to get out,” Jerak said. “And you keep going back to them. It’s basically about not having that experience or insight to work out if you like them as much as they like you.”

In the song, “You Got Me,” Jerak said she feels lucky because the way the vocals were recorded gives a “very live feel.” She works with a song writing and production team that includes Grammy winners Jordan Omley and Michael Man, who have been mentors to her in the process.

“They’ve really inspired me to be my best self,” Jerak said. “They are really kind, so it’s great to work in that kind of environment.”

Jerak is a fan of music that came out even before she was born, saying that she listens to the likes of Brandy, Carrie Underwood, Jessica Simpson and Monica. This inspiration bleeds into “You Got Me,” as well.

“I love old ‘90s music,” she said. “It’s got a lot of soul to it compared to music now. I take from a lot of life experiences, as well, when I sing. I try to make my music relatable.”

While “You Got Me” shows off her skills as an Pop/R&B singer, “To Fly” is much more of a ballad. Releasing both ends of the spectrum was intentional, as listeners will be able to get some variety of where her talents lie.

“In a pop song, they can’t really hear too much of the runs,” she said. “For a ballad you can be free and express yourself.”

Jerak has been involved in acting, singing and dancing since she was six-years-old. She attended performing arts school three times a week, where she would work on musical theater, jazz singing and more.

From 2022 to 2024 she trained at Margie Haber Studio in Los Angeles, and has since been cast as a lead in TVCs for “Earth Choice” and “IGA Ritchie’s.” She has also played the role of Sophie in the Paul Hogan film, “The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee.”

Now Jerak mainly plays pop and R&B music, saying that this is something she truly loves. She has always wanted to perform, and when she is on stage she feels so free.

“I really want to continue to grow as an artist, and grow with my music as I get older,” she said.

Jerak’s focus with music is in the way it connects with people. She said she is just an ordinary girl from Melbourne who is trying to do something big with her life. It is all about creating art, which she called a beautiful process.

“I just want to inspire people to be who they want to be without the pressure to cover up their true selves,” she said.

Jerak is a huge fan of LA, saying that someday she wants to live there full time because it is so supportive of the arts. She’ll be back in the city this summer to record more songs, saying that she really enjoys being in the studio putting together a track.

“Just singing all day and working on a song is such a beautiful vibe,” she said. “It’s what I love to do.”

Jerak will be out promoting these two singles, but she plans to record plenty more music in the future. Her goal is to get signed onto a record label, so she can show the world what she’s got on a grand scale.
