Conway The Machine has revealed that he sent a direct message to Drake after he dropped “8AM In Charlotte,” and it was quite complementary.

The Buffalo native sat down with Acton Entertainment’s podcast on Monday (November 27), where he was asked how he felt about Drake’s work with Conductor Williams and the “Griselda influence” embedded in the track.

“Shout out to Conductor, the beat was crazy,” he began. “I think I posted a DM — I DMed them or something, with the mind blown emojis. Like, ‘bro, it’s not even — it’s starting to not even be fair no more.’ But nah, dog, that shit was fire.”

Check out the full interview below. The comments about Drake begin at about the 7:50 mark.

Conway and Conductor, his longtime production collaborator, are set to release the joint album Conductor Machine on Friday (December 1). And that’s not all the Griselda MC is cooking.

Last month, during a chat with HipHopDXJ.U.S.T.I.C.E. League group member Erik “Rook” Ortiz confirmed that he and his partner Kevin “Colione” Crowe are also preparing a project with Conway.

Rook made it clear that it will arrive after Conway’s Won’t He Do It 2, a planned sequel to the rapper’s project from this past May.

“We can do it all, we can carry a whole album and we can make it sound phenomenal,” he began, referring to their recent work with Jeezy. “Next up for us is Conway The Machine. We’re doing that whole album with Conway. We’re in talks with a lot of other artists right now to do their whole albums.”

He continued: “And so Jeezy’s is [our] first foray into full-album territory. I think Hit-Boy knocked it out the park with Nas and he set the blueprint, and I’m glad that we can offer up something really cool like this.”

Jeezy’s I Might Forgive… But I Don’t Forget arrived on November 3 and was his first full-length release since leaving Def Jam.

The Grammy-nominated rap veteran was signed to the legendary label for the majority of his career, but he has now switched gears and will put out his new one via a partnership between CTE New World and Stem Distribution.

Sam Smith recently opened up about the “nightmare” experience of getting liposuction as a teenager.

In a new appearance on the Podcrushed podcast, the Stay with Me singer – who identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns – spoke with co-host Penn Badgley about deciding to have cosmetic surgery to remove excess fat at just 13 years old.

“I had an operation on my chest when I was 13, because it was starting to grow,” they explained. “There were different reasons behind it, but mostly, I was being teased so much. I couldn’t go swimming at school, and changing in the locker room was awful. So, I ended up having liposuction at 13.”

Getting emotional, Sam shared that they had long struggled with food and body image, though their parents were “incredibly supportive” of the choice to go through with the procedure.

Although the operation “worked,” the Too Good at Goodbyes star admitted that they wore the post-surgery bandage much longer than they were supposed to.

“It was all part of the struggle with eating and my body,” the 33-year-old said. “The liposuction helped, but it was also a nightmare because they gave me a bandage. If I wore it, I could skip to the front of the lunch line. So, I kept it on for nearly a year, saying, ‘Oh, don’t get too close,’ just so I could eat first… so really, the surgery didn’t fix much because I’ve always loved food.”

Lately, Sam has been performing a residency at the Warsaw venue in Brooklyn, New York.

The next To Be Free concert is set for November 19.
