Cardi B and Normani announced their surprise new single, "Wild Side," on Wednesday (July 14), revealing in a series of tweets that their collab will drop on Friday morning (July 16). They also unwrapped the single's very revealing cover art, which finds both women reclining on a giant pearly shell in the nude with just their long flowing hair covering them up.
There is, of course, a video for the track as well and when Cardi found out the pair were trending after the release of the news, the "Up" rapper made a prophetic promise: "The world is ready for Normani supremacy!!!!" Normani, who is still working away on her anticipated debut solo album, was clearly excited about the superstar summit, posting a pair of teary-eyed emoji after a fan offered up a cute tweet with throwback pics of "baby Normani" and "Baby Cardi."
She also re-tweeted an old video of Cardi B giving the former Fifth Harmony singer props, throwing up a string of heart emoji and one more welling-up-with-tears one for good measure to show appreciation for Cardi's longtime support. Cardi was just as excited, reacting to Normani's reaction to watching their "Wild" video again -- in which Normani humbly tweeted, "sis what the actual f---" -- by tweeting, "Ommmmgggg I’m nervous!!!!! But then again I’m not YOU DID THAT!!!!!!! I hope and you better be proud of yourself!!"
To date, Normani has released five singles, including "Motivation," the Sam Smith duet "Dancing With a Stranger" and the Khalid collab "Love Lies," but has not yet announced the release date for her first solo full-length.

The Wildhearts have revealed that their singer and original member Ginger Wildheart has been diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL), an uncommon and fast moving type of cancer.
The update was posted on the band’s official social media pages on Tuesday (16.03.26), explaining that the artist first started suffering from “severe pains” while they were on their UK headline tour in December.
In the announcement, it was explained that Ginger carried on with the shows during the More Satanic Rites tour despite the pain, relying on medication so he could stay on stage and avoid letting fans down.
Once the tour wrapped up, he decided to undergo medical examinations to find out what was causing the persistent discomfort, and doctors have now confirmed the diagnosis.
The statement began: “During The Wildhearts’ incredible More Satanic Rites UK tour in December 2025, frontman and founding member Ginger Wildheart was experiencing severe pains that some nights forced him to take some short breaks from stage.
“Determined not to upset the band’s loyal fans new and old Ginger took painkillers to ensure the rock’n’roll was delivered, without missing a riff… We are saddened to report that Ginger has been diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL) a rare but aggressive strain of cancer.”
Even with the diagnosis, the group shared that Ginger is still in “fine fettle” and has continued working on new material.
All of their upcoming performances, including their scheduled slot at Takedown Festival next month, are expected to continue as planned.
The band have also encouraged fans to send their encouragement and good energy as Ginger moves forward with treatment.
It continued: “While we process this news and await further medical advice, Ginger wants everyone to know that strength and positivity will prevail and the show will go on.
“Make sure you come and see The Wildhearts sounding bigger and more refreshingly amazing than ever at a venue near you soon.”
