Entrepreneur and musical artist Ghxst Vic—aka Victor Ilomuanya—is the New Jersey native shaking up the hip hop scene with his unique messaging and global outlook. His latest release, “Baby Bump,” focuses on the unnecessary glamorization of the womanizing lifestyle of men who leave pregnant women behind.

“Baby Bump” was born through the collaborative efforts of Ghxst Vic and his fiancée. “We were laying in bed, bouncing ideas off each other while I jotted them down in my phone. She was the one to tell me which boundaries I shouldn’t cross.” After all, the single explores the sensitive topic of men abandoning their pregnant partners and leaving the women to care for an unplanned pregnancy.

“There are a bunch of pregnant women out there embracing the song. We’ve gotten good feedback on the single,” shares Ghxst Vic of the November 16 release. His hope is to draw attention to the seriousness of the situation and remind listeners that being a “f-boy” isn’t glamorous—it’s abandonment. Taking responsibility is far better than leaving behind a family in the making.

Ghxst Vic is no stranger to taking on challenges. The “x” in Ghxst Vic refers to his being at a crossroads. Throughout his life, the artist has lived across occupations and cultures and he is still in the process of creating a name for himself in the music industry. “The ‘ghost’ part of my name speaks to transparency. There’s nothing hidden.” Aligned with this openness, Ghxst Vic uses music as a platform to speak the truth and share important messages with the world.

For a large part of his life, Ghxst Vic travelled the world, immersing himself in various cultures and lifestyles. From sports to songwriting, he threw himself into his passions, making both a career and hobby of his interests. His time in Africa and Europe helped shape Ghxst Vic’s musical style, which evokes Afro beat, hip hop, and R&B in sound uniquely his own. In 2018, Ghxst Vic launched his first business, a well-recognized luxury concierge business, while finishing college. It wasn’t until 2022, after a year of recording in the studio, that Ghxst Vic finally jumped straight into the music industry, looking to earn his place in the spotlight.

These days, Ghxst Vic enjoys seeing the progression of his music across international audience. What was once popular within regional groups is now making international headlines across country borders. “Baby Bump” is a transitional single for Ghxst Vic. “The single represents shedding new life,” explains the artist. “It was kind of a gateway to my upcoming project coming out in early 2023 that’s full of personal messages.”

Musically, “Baby Bump” upgrades the energy of hip hop with strong messaging. “Hip hop is currently popular, but you hear more about violence and guns than anything else. I wanted to switch the message while still using the beats.” Ghxst Vic’s music on the whole is very versatile. It flows from hip hop, trap, and drill to international R&B. “My music is a crossbreed of everywhere I’ve lived and my experiences.”

Along with his upcoming project release, Ghxst Vic is planning to perform live shows for fans next year. From rotations in Miami to appearances up and down the East coast, Ghxst Vic looks forward to sharing his new music with listeners.
