Jonathan Majors, the controversial actor who was convicted of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, has revealed his top five favorite rappers — and his picks may surprise you.

Speaking to AllHipHop, the Creed III star was asked about his all-time favorite MCs and in response, gave a slightly surprising list.

‘PacNipsey… Oh, man… Yo, I’ma say it: Kendrick… Umm… Do I mean, this? Yeah. Nas. And I think I’m gonna go with Cam’ron. I love him, bro,” he said.

When quizzed about his favorite song from the Dipset legend, Majors issued a somewhat vague reply: “I liked his last joint that I’m listening to now. That’s fire.”

Majors also gave shout-outs to Jadakiss and Scarface.

Jonathan Majors previously revealed that he used the music of Nipsey Hussle to help him get into character for Creed III, in which he plays Michael B. Jordan’s childhood friend-turned-boxing opponent.

“All of Nipsey’s stuff was really helpful,” he told SlashFilm. “They’re from the same area, Dame and him, so that’s cool. There’s also dialect work, and so he’s rapping in his L.A. sound. The things he’s talking about are things that resonate with the world that Dame comes from, so that was very helpful.”

He continued: “There’s other songs that come from your subconscious that touch you in a way that can align you. You write that song next to the top of the page or whatever, and there’s playlist upon playlist upon playlist. Those can curate it into ‘This is that scene’ or ‘This is that moment.’”

Cam’ron has also discussed Majors, previously making controversial comments about the alleged sexuality of the actor and his Creed III co-star Michael B. Jordan.

The rapper-turned-media personality took to Instagram in 2023 after coming across a poster for the movie that showed Majors draping his arms over Jordan as both actors stared softly at the camera.

“The reason I didn’t go see creed,” Cam joked in his caption.

One of the most vocal critics of Cam’s homophobic comment was Skillz, who hit back: “Its already hard enough out here for black men as it is bro. You cant even show love or accept it without your own trying to make it out to be something else. I dont know Micheal B Jordan but I know losing Chadwick was hard on him….cuz shit it was hard on all of us.”

He continued: “We clowned that man before he died not even knowing how sick he really was. Maybe Jonathan came into Mikes life when he needed a friend…a bro. How come men cant have healthy relationships with other men without thier masculinity or sexuality being questioned?”
