In this grainy clip, Nas splits time cruising the Cali hills and shares snapshots of his youth.

Nas brings vintage vibes in the visual for his Magic 3 track “I Love This Feeling,” which finds him splitting time between cruising the California hillside and kicking game to the youth.

Directed by Leff, the music video begins with the sight of spinning gold VVS rims on a jet-black Mercedes Benz displayed from a projector before Nas appears in a classroom with young students. Assuming the role of elder statesman and teacher, the black-and-white scene transitions into color as it captures Esco schooling the youth amid cut-scenes to toppled chess pieces and the sprawling views of the Golden State.

The clip, which attempts to “embody the introspective energy” of the song, presents Nas in a gracious and joyous state, with reflections of his past life channeled through snapshots from his younger years. “I Love This Feeling” is the second track from Magic 3 to receive its own music video, with the first for the album’s introductory cut “Fever.”

Nas’ seventeenth studio album, Magic 3 was released through Mass Appeal Records on Sept. 14, the rap icon’s 50th birthday. It was the sixth consecutive album by Nas to be entirely produced by Hit-Boy and capped the third installment in their critically acclaimed Magic album series.

The “I Love This Feeling” music video follows Nas announcing that he’s currently developing a television series based on Maurice Ashley, the first-ever Black chess grandmaster. The Illmatic creator spoke on his involvement in the making of the series, which will find him working with Power producer Mark Canton on the show’s first season.

“I’m grateful to be part of bringing Maurice Ashley’s incredible life to the screen,” Nas said in a statement at the time. “His story is one of greatness and his perseverance will continue to inspire the next generation of thinkers.”

“I felt like it was a good step into a more, I guess you could say, ‘grown-up’ role and into that next phase,” relayed Zendaya last year. “It was a little bit scary to take on, which I think is a good feeling. To be like, ‘Ooh, can I do this?’ You could run from that feeling and stay safe and comfortable, or you can go, ‘You know what, f**k it.’”

She continued, “What was important to me was that she was unapologetic about it. Sometimes characters who are messy and conflicted and wield power over other people are reserved for [actors] who don’t look like me, so when I get an opportunity to play a character like that, I’ma take it!” the Golden Globe winner expressed.
