This is a brighter follow-up to her 2023 comeback single, "alone."

Willow‘s newest single, “symptom of life,” is an ode for the dreamers, explorers, adventurers, and earth angels.

On Tuesday (Mar. 12), the 23-year-old shared the record and its accompanying visual. She explained via Instagram that the tune is “for all the beautiful people who have ever gone into nature with their friends & been guided to a deeper understanding of life together by plant medicine. I hope this song and visual can bring catharsis to anyone who experiences them.”

In a statement, Willow later described the song to have “a very beautiful whimsical nature” but noted, it “holds a lot of mystery.” Adding, “There’s this beautiful light coming in through the piano, but also this syncopated rhythm of the bass bringing in that mysterious element. A juxtaposition of light and dark.”

The self-directed video shows the artist and two friends strolling through a forest before she decides to lay down and muse over nature’s mysteries.

“Pushing and peeling myself out of my disguise/ Looking at you, now I am wondering who am I/ If I could try to take you back, I couldn’t define/ Feeling absence of time/ Knowing all is decided/ And there’s nothing here left to find/ The story’s all in my mind,” Willow sings over the moody melody.

Her parents, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, praised their youngest child and her new work of art.

“Go ‘head, Bean!!,” Will wrote affectionately. Meanwhile, Jada shared, “Congrats Willow!! You’ve worked soooo hard to become the artist you’ve always dreamed to be since you were a little girl. It’s been inspiring and an honor to watch your journey all the way through. I love you.”

This is Willow’s second release since her return to the music scene. It’s unclear if both tracks will appear on her next album, but check out the full video above.

Eric Bellinger and Sevyn Streeter are the perfect duo in the “Drop” music video. Directed by Apex Visions, the visual brings the two R&B singers together for a fun, synchronized groove. The track comes from Eric Bellinger’s The Rebirth 3: The Party & The Bedroom album released in March.

“‘Drop’ has been a fan favorite since the album dropped!” detailed Bellinger per The Hype Magazine. “I knew I wanted to shoot a video from the second we finished recording. Me and Sevyn felt it was necessary to make sure the video felt like the party that the song is, so we also included some fire grooves to keep the energy on 100!”
