Alex Isley, Donell Jones, and Rick Ross are set to be featured on the upcoming LP.

It’s the season of the crooner and Jon B. is leading the way with the video release for his new single, “Waiting On You” featuring Tank.

The reflective, adoring ballad that’s an ode to being worth the wait finally has a visual to match. In the Tragic Vision-directed video, Jon sits back, letting his lady take center stage as he reminisces on how “on time” her love is.

“Crazy how it’s always on time/ Even when it’s always late/ Only you can make the clock stand still/ But never let time go to waste, baby,” he sings as the camera pans between the juxtaposing warm and cool backdrops. Whether his soul is being set ablaze or the moments feel as cold as ice, the love remains.

Of the single — produced by Jon B., Tank, and Brady Watt — Jon shared in a statement, “’Waiting on You’ describes the feeling of anticipating love in your life; the seasons of waiting. No matter the timing, even when it seems like it’s taking forever, you have to be patient for your partner in life. Not giving up makes it all worth the wait.”

It’s the titular track from his forthcoming album, slated for release on Feb. 23. Alex IsleyDonell Jones, and Rick Ross are among the guests to be featured on the 11-track LP. The record is also Jon’s first since 2019’s “Priceless” and his first collaboration with Tank in 15 years.

When preparing for his 2024 comeback, the 49-year-old wrote on Instagram, “Entering 2024 focused and grounded happy with every choice that led me to this moment of stillness. 2023 taught me you are the truest testament to how your mindset creates your reality. To 2024 being abundantly fruitful for everyone in relationships, finances and dreams.”

Though he hasn’t spoken much about Waiting On You, he previously described himself as “an artist who [cannot] be pinned down to one sound or style.” So, this should help manage expectations regarding the new project.

If you have ever played a fourfive song, you already know there is always a chance he might push your speakers to the edge. On the new track titled "PP," that idea stays true because the artist delivers another intense and explosive moment. Whether this underground sound is something that personally clicks with you is something only you can decide. It is not a style that everyone wants to hear every single day. Even so, artists like fourfive continue to prove that this approach can eventually break into the mainstream. It may take some time, but this is the way music seems to be moving right now.
